Hi people (!!!)
I'm here again! Hahah but I'm only here to blog about a telemovie I watched yesterday. I loved the show............hopefully you guys who missed it can catch it one day online cuz it kept my eyes glued though it's a simple short movie but I think the actors/actresses are great, storyline is interesting and it's very meaningful cuz it includes a serious current issue about how you should treat the mentally impaired. :)

There was this girl called Shan Shan. She was was buying a sunflower for her mother. But a man bought all the sunflowers away. The shopkeeper told her to buy one from the handsome man who bought all the sunflowers. She then ran after him and asked him for one. He said ''$4.80''. She took a long time to get the money and in the end the man said 'Nevermind' and left. Because of this little incident, Shan Shan lost her job at a bakery. Since then her mother tried to find the girl a job. They were searching in a neighborhood when she saw the man again. He went into a bakery. She ran after him and stopped in front of the bakery. The mother eventually got her a job at the bakery.
Shan Shan tried to return Wen Yuan (the man) the $4.80 she owed him. He found her very irritating and told her to leave him alone. Thus she stayed out of her sight. However, Shan Shan had strayed away from the bakery and did not know the way home. She followed Wen Yuan up a bus but had no money to pay for the fare. In the end, Wen Yuan helped her and discovered that she was slightly intellectually disabled.
Shan Shan helped Wen Yuan one day at the bakery, to save his cupcakes from being burnt and saved him from being lectured by his uncle. She brought him to her sunflower garden after that, a place for her to enjoy and relax at with many sunflowers. She discovered that Wen Yuan had no friends and no aspirations and decided to become his good friend.
One day, Shan Shan's friends Mary and another guy came to visit her to go to school together. In the hurry, Shan Shan took Wen Yuan's phone by incident. Wen Yuan discovered it later and followed her to her school to get back his phone. He discovered that her school was a special one, APSN for the intellectually disabled ones.
Shan Shan called Wen Yuan out one day, to show him her new floral dress and treat him to biscuits. He found this all very childish and reprimanded her, leaving her at her sunflower garden. She waited there till at night, till it rained. Wen Yuan eventually came back and scolded her, "Do you think it's romantic to stay out in the rain like they do in drama serials?" Shan Shan replied "I was afraid you couldn't find me if I left."
Wen Yuan was very touched at her actions, not that she was trying to get him to like her by staying out in the rain but that she was just doing what she thought was right. He brought her back home and almost kissed but was caught by Shan Shan's mother. She forbade her from going out with Wen Yuan and even forced her to go for a sterilisation operation. She escaped luckily and met Wen Yuan at night. They spent the night together then.
Wen Yuan's parents learnt about him seeing Shan Shan and were against both of them together. Wen Yuan's father looked down on Shan Shan and thought that Wen Yuan will become dumb being with her too. But Wen Yuan had slowly developed a liking for Shan Shan.
Wen Yuan's parents went to visit Shan Shan's mother. She told them that although Shan Shan was intellectually disabled and did not have the IQ of her age, but she's exceptionally determined and diligent. She forbade them to call her 'special'. She also said "As to whether Shan Shan will continue seeing Wen Yuan or not, Shan Shan will make the choice."
Shan Shan's mum went to meet Wen Yuan and thanked him for his care for Shan Shan. She asked him "Are you willing to look after her for your whole life?" Wen Yuan couldn't reply her properly then. She replied "It's okay, it's normal. Cuz everyone has a selfish side, I can't expect you to love her unconditionally like I do." She gave him the letter "The Promise", a sunflower pact Shan Shan's mum made for Shan Shan. If Shan Shan ever falls in love and the boy she loves can fulfill the conditions as laid down in the “sunflower pact”, Shan Shan's mother will give her blessings.
Shan Shan and her mum went to see Dr Ken (her school's teacher) together. In the end, Shan Shan and Wen Yuan escaped together and they went overseas together. Shan Shan wanted a bear with a sunflower on its head, just like how she dressed. However, Wen Yuan did not buy it because it was too expensive. He went off after that, but lost Shan Shan halfway through. He eventually found her outside, robbed of her wallet and bracelet. Wen Yuan was angry at her. They went to the hotel, intending to spend the night there but he discovered that his wallet was missing. It was stolen on the train when Shan Shan did not look after it when she was helping people to take photographs. Wen Yuan was extremely furious and scolded Shan Shan to tears. She said "I want to go home......to my mother." Wen Yuan realised that he was wrong, and he had to be more patient and tolerant towards her.
They walked on till they were tired then slept by the roadside.
The next morning they woke up and saw the sunflower field Shan Shan had desired to see with her loved one. She was very happy and ran around and confessed "Wen Yuan, I really like you!" They took many pictures together there and had an enjoyable time there.
They went back after that and met Shan Shan's mum at the arrival hall. Shan Shan gave Wen Yuan the bear with the sunflower and he realised the he went missing that day to buy that for him to keep, and that she bought it with the bracelet she had. Shan Shan also gave him back the picture of the sunflower kingdom he once drew for her. He was very touched. Shan Shan then said 'Bye.' instead of '再见.' It reminded him of what she always said last time, "不是Bye, 是再见, 因为我们还是会见面!" It was farewell for good this time. Shan Shan left with her mother, and the mother nodded briefly at Wen Yuan and left.
It figured that the letter "The Promise" read, "If you love her, leave her. Because the day will be back, when you finally learn how to love her unconditionally and take care of her your whole life. At that time, the sunflower will still be the sunflower." He let her go.
Three years later,
He was a big artist with his work, "A smile after 48 minutes." of the sunflower field, and his inspiration was from the girl Shan Shan.
Rightttttttt, some parts of my story may be wrong so do correct me if there's any wrong if you watched the show (!!!)
K I think I'm off to watch Hi my sweetheart, haven't watched it!! :)
